YAY, it's snowing now!
Trying very hard not to think about the task of snow shovelling...
The Joy of Friends
Thanks to the internet.
I still can feel pretty close to my friends even though they live in different countries.
As for LJ/DW friends, without them, my life would be really boring!

I'm grateful for my fate of having this family.
The Thrill of Learning
I used to be good at learning languages. Now my lazy brain can't store up the languages I don't use daily, but I still find out some eye-opening information very often. Therefore my life has been quite amusing.

I took the French course at College, I was quite good at then.
When I started to live in Jakarta, I studied Indonesian Bahasa to communicate with my household staff.
During my Abu Dhabi/UAE time, somehow I was surrounded by Italian friends, so I learnt Italian pretty seriously then.
I tried to learn Greek for the holiday in Skopelos.
Arabic...I bought a book, read three pages and decided not to waste my energy for it. It's too complicated for me.😢 If I had any Arabic speaking friends, it could have been possible.

Son #1 started to learn a little Arabic on the job as it were. So entirely by listening and speaking. He's never actually read it. He also picked up some Romanian that way.

Reading Arabic letters is another thing. So your son #1 did the right thing, use ears and mimick it if you can.
When I hear Arabic conversation in some drama or film, I feel very nostalgic.
